As part of their Sustainable Palm Oil Transparency Toolkit (SPOTT), the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) has developed a scorecard which assesses oil palm growers on the sustainability of their operations.

The assessment is based on publicly available information, and covers the following topics:
• RSPO reporting and progress
• Land areas and location
• Environmental assessments and management plans
• Fragile, marginal & peat soils
• Zero burning
• GHG emissions
• Traceability of FFB and CPO

After volunteering to be assessed in August 2015, REA was ranked 7 out of the 50 companies included in the November 2015 version of the SPOTT scorecard. Further details about the criteria used for the assessment and the full company scorecard can be found here.
